Sydney based vocalist, guitarist & song writer, Michael David is described by many as a distinctive and engaging performer. Michael's musical influences stem from soul music as the cornerstone of his genre bending sound, however, it's his unique tone and powerful vocal ability that effortlessly command attention. Performing throughout Australia’s East coast & frequenting some of Sydney’s top live music venues. In 2011, Michael opened for internationally acclaimed soul musician Eric Benét, opening the doors for his stint on reality TV’s ‘The Voice Australia’ 2012, making top 24 under Seal's mentorship. Years later Michael went on to make Australia's X-Factor's top 20, travelling to the UK "Home Visits" with Chris Isaak and his team.
Michael's appearances include The Manly Jazz Festival in 2013 & 2015, opening for Hot Chocolate 2014 Australian tour, and sharing the stage with the likes of Aloe Blacc, Angie Stone and D’angelo as the opening act on the international stage at Soulfest Sydney 2014. In both 2015 & 2016 Michael toured with 2014 Australia's Got Talent winners, Uncle Jed, and since 2014 has performed as lead singer for blues & rock band, Mogadishu Family Band. Michael has also worked in studio along side bands and artists like RÜFÜS, Luna Grand and most recently, Cold Chisel's famed, Ian Moss.
Michael's debut EP ‘Take Me’ was released in 2014 to a sold out crowd at 505 Jazz Club and he is now in the final recording phase of his debut album set to be released early 2017.
